Champaign County Farm Bureau Political Involvement Committee Endorses Gordy Hulten for Champaign County Executive
CHAMPAIGN—Champaign County Farm Bureau’s Political Involvement Committee has voted to endorse Champaign County Clerk Gordy Hulten in the race to be Champaign County’s first elected County Executive.
“We have a long and outstanding working relationship with Gordy,” said Chris Murray, Chair of the Farm Bureau’s Political Involvement Committee. “He understands the issues that matter to our membership and is a committed partner. We agree with the priorities he’s identified for County Government and are excited to support his campaign.”
Hulten has served as Champaign County Clerk for seven years and has previously served on the Champaign City Council.
“Gordy’s experience in County Government and his knowledge of its functions are a key reason for our endorsement,” said Murray. “We support his ideas for reforms, organizational changes and efficiencies, and service improvements.”
“I am honored and grateful to receive the Farm Bureau Political Involvement Committee endorsement,” said Gordy Hulten. “I look forward to working with them and their members in partnership as Champaign County’s first County Executive. I’m excited to collaborate with them on our priorities for County government.”
In the summer of 2016 the Champaign County Farm Bureau Political Involvement Committee and the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce partnered to reform county government to adopt a County Executive form of government. With the first county Executive election occurring in 2018, identifying and supporting a County Executive candidate is a key priority for the Committee.
